***Urgent Appeal***
Hi all,
As a lot of you will know Celtic Waves as a club is ran by its members and lives from hand to mouth. To try and keep fees as low as possible the committee always needs to fundraise to make ends meet. Two years of COVID disruption have really limited our options on this front. Limerick Masters are holding their annual gala in UL this weekend. They have agreed to make a donation to the club if we can assist with their time keeping this Friday, March 4th from 6-10pm (most will probably be finished before 10pm). We need 30 adult volunteers. Current and past swimmers, 16 or over, are also welcome.
No experience with time keeping is needed, all will be explained in the night. The roles are quite straight forward such as using a stopwatch as a backup to the electronic in water pads, make sure the right swimmer is at the right lane before their race etc etc. You are not expected to judge or disqualify a swimmer. For newer parents and guardians it is a great opportunity to get a feel for officiating at a gala. Going forward you will be required to help out when your own child is swimming at a gala so this is a great opportunity to learn about the various roles.
Can you please let our chairperson Eoin (086 3764422) know if you are available, even for an hour or two. Many thanks to all the people who have volunteered already, it really is appreciated.
Many thanks,
Celtic Waves Committee
